We are currently taking enrolments for September 2020.
We are following Government guidelines and are currently closed due to the Coronavirus. We will of course re-open, in line with other educational establishments when allowed to do so.
In the meantime we are still able to offer places for 2 - 4 year olds. Please contact Karen on 07508 687717.
We are a friendly and well established preschool, situated in the heart of Mayford Village, just outside Woking. We enjoy the modern and well equipped facilities of Mayford Village Hall and are able to offer wonderfully spacious and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
Please like our Facebook page as we post our activities and upcoming events. We use this as our main of source of information to keep parents updated.
We are an Ofsted-registered preschool (URN: 556954) and are proud of our well qualified and experienced team of ‘Yellow Ladies’. We are very welcoming and have a compassionate approach to children’s learning.
Our session times are 9.15 – 12.15 with an additional hour for an optional lunch club (children bring their own healthy packed lunch) until 1.15. Our session price is £17.50 and lunch club is an extra £7. Children qualify for 15 funded hours from the term after they turn 3. We accept children from the age of 2 (for the slightly increased fee of £18.50 per session until they turn 3 and are eligible for funding) until they start school.
If you would like to find out more about us, please pop in and see us during our session times. No appointment needed, just come in for a chat!
At Mayford Pre-School we want the children to have fun and look forward to coming to us. We want the children to develop in confidence and be curious and eager to investigate our varied range of exciting learning opportunities during their time with us.
The Yellow Ladies – we all aim to have fun with the children, to be approachable by any child, for the children to know who to turn to for comfort, to feel that they can have a go and not to worry about getting things wrong, to model for them how to build friendships, resolve conflict, to show empathy to others and to care for our environment.
The Yellow Ladies aim to teach and foster the awe and wonder for our natural world and to develop caring minds that want to protect our planet for everyone in the future.
We provide a large, safe, nurturing and caring environment where, we believe, the children can explore and learn at their own pace and feel they in an environment that feels like home, with toys and activities that interest them. At Mayford we are blessed to have a large space for our activities both inside and outside in the garden as well as offering a Forest School approach with our Woodland Walks. We are a ‘Pack-Away’ setting that works like a ‘well oiled machine’, despite its challenges, the team present different activities every day!
As a team, we are all passionate about providing the very best experience for all our children that enables them to be happy, be ready to learn, make friends and value each other and the environment they live in. We value individual’s experience and knowledge and work closely together in decision making and reflecting/reviewing our practice. We all work together to make improvements, embed and build on our strengths to meet the needs of all our children. We value the dedication of our staff and provide regular supervision sessions to support their professional development, as well as providing time to support their emotional well-being.
We pride ourselves in the relationships that we build with our parents, from pre-start date visits, information gathering and our stay and play sessions; to daily informal conversations, to more in depth discussions should the needs of the child/family change or require support. We value the information that our parents provide and update us on so that we can support the child using a holistic approach that meets the needs of the whole child; emotionally, culturally, socially and academically. We use an online system (Tapestry) where we share observations of their child’s learning that is linked to the EYFS. We also provide parent consultations when we will share their child’s progress and next areas of learning.
We believe that a family, that is well supported and informed, is more equipped to provide an environment where children develop into happy, well-balanced individuals that are life- long learners. We are proud to be part of that journey.
